The inhabitants of Chisinau, housing stock managers and business entities are requested to become involved, alongside the municipal services, in the works to alleviate the consequences of the meteorological conditions.

Head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea has told IPN that the situation in Chisinau following the elements is difficult. There were reported many cases of tree falling, access way blocking and inaccessibility to particular areas.

“In this difficult situation, we call on the citizens to mobilize and help deal with the consequences. We urge everyone to be prudent and safeguard their life and property and to actively take part in the alleviation of the consequences of the witnessed disaster on the streets, inside yards of blocks and quarters,” stated Petru Gontea.

According to forecasters, there will be heavy precipitation in the form of sleet and rain - 15-30 l/m2, in parts 35-45 l/m2 – on April 20 and 21. The northeastern wind wil intensify to 22 m/s. The yellow code advisory issued earlier this week was updated.
