Chisinau residents urged not to throw litter onto piles of leaves
The collection of dry leaves in the capital city may last by the first ground frosts. About 400 trucks of foliage have been gathered last week, but the leaves continue to fall, the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said in a meeting at the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports
Petru Gontea called on the residents not to throw litter onto the piles of leaves as this burdens the work of the sanitation workers. The leaves are collected on a separate platform and should remain separated.
In the same meeting, Galina Leahu, deputy head of the Green Areas Association, said 790 trees will be planted on the streets Mesterul Manole and Kiev, Moscovei Blvd. and other Chisinau streets, where a part of the trees must be replaced.
