The Chisinau Trolleybus Company last year sold 96 million trolleybus tickets, as against 154 million a year before. The company's head Gheorghe Morgoci told Info-Prim Neo that the number of passengers decreased by about 37% following the rise in trolleybus fares. The difference of 1 leu in trolleybus and minibus fares made many people choose the minibuses , which have a more flexible schedule. Even if the number of passengers fell, the Chisinau Trolleybus Company's revenues increased by 22 million lei, said Gheorghe Morgoci. The company in 2010 reported incomes of 130 million lei, as opposed to 108 million lei in 2009. On October 1, 2009, the Chisinau Municipal Council increased the trolleybus fare from 1 leu to 2 lei.
