Most of the residents of Chisinau who left comments on the City Hall's website said they would like the trolleybuses that will be bought by the municipal authorities to be gray and orange, Info-Prim Neo reports. Other less preferred colors include red and white with blue that bring Chisinau closer to the European cities, according to the authors of the comments. The green color was also chosen. Many persons suggested that every trolleybus route should have its own color. “The travelers would see the color of the trolleybus from far away and would know where it goes,” said an inhabitant of Chisinau. About 1,500 persons lefts comments about the color of the trolleybuses on the City Hall's website. Many of the authors asked that no advertisements be placed on the trolleybuses. Others suggested that the trolleybuses should include automatic facilities for persons with disabilities and elderly people. The Chisinau City Hall will examine the suggestions made by December 10 and will then tell the producer what color was chosen for the trolleybuses. The contract for the purchase of 102 new trolleybuses was signed by the City Hall with the Belarusian company Belkomunmash SA early in November. The trolleybuses will be delivered in four batches. The first will be brought to Chisinau by next February, while the last by next May. The cost of the project is €13.7 million, including €0.7 million technical assistance. €5 million represents a loan from the EBRD, another €5 million – a loan from the EIB, while €3million was provided by the European Union as a grant.
