Chisinau residents carry our repair works – nice in the house, ugly outside
The municipal authorities are concerned about the sanitary condition of Chisinau’s districts. The volume of garbage and building waste collected by the waste removal company Autosalubritate increases in summer, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea, the yards of the apartment buildings are full of piles of stone, sand, lumber and other construction materials, which block access to the blocks and the children’s playing grounds and sports grounds.
“Many dwellers started repair works and there are stones and sand everywhere. The harmonious living and the sanitary norms are thus being violated. We ask the police to help prevent possible infringements,” Gontea said.
The official also said that the garbage dumps are also full of construction waste.
“The people carry out repair works, but instead of transporting the garbage themselves, they take it to the district dumps. The volume of waste transported by Autosalubritate has almost doubled.”
The volume of waste collected by Autosalubritate rose also because of the rainstorm and strong wind that caused havoc in Chisinau, uprooting hundreds of trees and breaking branches. The Green Spaces Association has trimmed over 130 trees and cut more that 80 trees in order to prevent possible falls.
The municipal administration calls on the Chisinau residents to keep the quarters clean and take only the household garbage to waste dumps. The construction waste must be transported to the authorized dumps located outside the city.
