An inhabitant of Chisinau got three years for traffic of influence, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In 2011, the man asked and received €8,000 from a person in exchange for the promise to facilitate the purchase of a publicly-owned plot of land, at an advantageous price.

One year later, the offender told the same person that he can organize the transportation of a consignment of cigarettes over the border, without impediments, and received €2,500 for this ‘service’.

In both of the cases, the ‘businesses’ haven’t been brought to an end. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
