Chisinau resident gets nine years for forging documents

An inhabitant of Chisinau was sentenced to nine years in jail for swindle and forgery. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), the culprit used a false stamp to conclude sale-purchase contracts, IPN reports.

In a communiqué, the PGO says the man last year signed contracts for selling-purchasing spare parts and lubricants for cars with four companies. In order to gain the partners’ trust, the man paid a part of the money for the supplied goods and then signed other contracts for larger amounts, but didn’t transfer money for the goods this time.

The swindler obtained illegally tyres for vehicles, oils and spare parts to the value of over 480,000 lei. He then disappeared, causing significant damage to the partners.

He got nine years and was banned from holding particular posts for a period of five years. By the same sentence, the court ordered that the culprit pay damages to the four firms.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
