Chisinau ready for legislative elections
The capital city is prepared for the July 29 parliamentary elections, the secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council Valeriu Didencu said at Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A number of 297 poling places have been set up in Chisinau. 55 of them are located in suburbs. Compared with the April 5 elections, there will be by four polling places more - three in Botanica district and one in Budesti village.
As many as 5,331 persons with permanent residence visas outside Chisinau asked to be allowed to vote in the capital city, 518 of whom in suburban settlements. Didencu said that all the electoral offices work normally. The electoral rolls have been posted. The lists can be also checked over the Internet. Only the composition of electoral offices situated in Botanica district was modified.
The electoral campaign closes today at 24.00. Under the law, the electoral contenders must withdraw their campaign posters and ads by the end of the day. Today it is the last day for holding electoral meetings. No electoral advertising is allowed tomorrow.
