Workers of the municipal street lighting company “Lumteh” started to prepare the capital city for the winter holidays. They will daily set up the festive lighting on the streets until December 1, when the lights will be switched on to officially open the holiday season.
Anatolie Aparatu, chief engineer at “Lumteh”, has told IPN that decorative lighting will be placed on 22 streets of Chisinau, as last year. The lights are over 70 km in length. The chromatic scale of the festive lighting will be the same as last year.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the Green Areas Association Eliferie Haruta said the municipality is looking for the Christmas tree. They are considering a number of offers, including of the Hancesti forestry company, which sells a fir tree that is about 20 meters in height for 12,000 lei, by 4,000 lei cheaper than last year’s Christmas tree.
The Christmas tree will be placed in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau on November 25 or 26. It will be decorated with garlands and then with baubles
