The local authorities inaugurated the Christmas Tree in the central square of Chisinau and switched on the holiday lighting. The event was accompanied by a cultural-artistic event, IPN reports.

Head of the Culture Division of the Chisinau City Hall Lucia Culev, who officiated at the inauguration of the fir tree, said this was grown by a family from Ialoveni district during 37 years. “This tree will bring the most wonderful holidays to Chisinau,” stated Lucia Culev. According to her, the fir three will be in central Chisinau for a month and a half.

The concert in the Great National Assembly Square involved such national singers and bands as Kapushon, Mani Guz Space, Radu Dolgan, Lidia Botezatu, Ricu Voda, Iurie Sadovnic, Catharsis, Crescendo Band, Gloria Chorale, Osoianu Sisters, folk studio Iedera, folk dances ensemble “Hora-horita”, Lollipops and Do-re-mi Show.
