A number of categories of people in Chisinau will benefit from financial assistance from the municipality on the occasion of the Easter holidays, IPN reports.

The Chisinau City Hall said 900 persons with visual impairments, who are members of the Chisinau local office of the Association of the Blind of Moldova, will receive by 350 lei.

A number of 939 persons with hearing impairments, who are members of the Association of the Deaf of Moldova, the local office in Chisinau, will also get by 350 lei.

As many as 2,070 solitary elderly people, who are beneficiaries of the Homecare Social Service of the General Social and Health Assistance Division, will be offered by 500 lei.

The money could be collected from post offices in Chisinau from next week. Acting head of the Social Assistance Division Irina Banova has told IPN that the money will be released when presenting the identity card or the pensioner’s permit.

It was also decided to provide financial assistance to 203 socially deprived persons, based on personal applications. Thus, 115 persons will get by 500 lei, 36 persons by 1,000 lei, 14 persons by 1,500 lei, 11 persons by 2,000 lei, three persons by 2,500 lei, while 24 persons by 3,000 lei.
