An 82-year-old woman from Chisinau hanged herself on January 10. The cause of the suicide is still unknown. Evelina Rusu, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, has told Info-Prim Neo that the tragedy happened in an apartment on Braniste St. The body of the woman was found by her relatives in the bathroom. An investigation is under way. On the same day, a woman aged 19 was rushed to Saint Trinity Hospital as she tried to kill herself by taking different pills. An unidentified man in his 50s was found on the street in an alcoholic coma and was taken to the same hospital. Yesterday and last night, the ambulance service in Chisinau responded to 899 calls, including 137 cases of acute viral infections, 50 cases of flu, 28 cases of pneumonia, 47 cases of trauma and seven strokes.
