The experts of the working group on economy on behalf of Chisinau, in the meeting with the political representatives for the Transnistrian conflict settlement, presented a draft agreement designed to ensure the farmers’ access to their land situated beyond the Rybnitsa-Tiraspol road, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Reintegration Office, the sides agreed that the discussions on the document will continue in the next meeting of the working groups on economy, which is to be set by the Transnistrian side.
The political representative of Tiraspol Eugen Carpov asked the Transnistrian side to refrain from unilateral actions and to take the steps needed to ensure the farmers’ access to their land so as not to cause additional economic damage to them.
Since this spring, the Transnistrian administration has restricted the access of the farmers from Dubasari to their land located beyond the Rybnitsa-Tiraspol road. Tiraspol demands that the framers should sign lease contracts to be able to cultivate the land, while the farmers say this thing would mean losing the ownership right over this land, which is guaranteed by the constitutional authorities of the state.
The meeting also discussed the extension of the period of validity of the protocol decision of March 30, 2012, which provides for the resumption of freight traffic through the Transnistrian region and which expires at the end of this year.
