Chisinau transmitted a letter to Tiraspol, proposing holding a meeting in the 1+1 format on June 30, between the chief negotiators for the Transnistrian settlement process, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic stated in a working meeting with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch on July 23, IPN reports.

In the discussions, Cristina Lesnic said that the meeting in the 1+1 format is to center on subjects from the Berlin Plus Package and other topical subjects from the agenda of the negotiation process between Chisinau and Tiraspol, in particular related to the events that occurred as a result of the management of the epidemiological situation.

The official noted Chisinau showed constructivism and a pragmatic approach to the fulfillment of the positive obligations to the citizens living in the Transnistrian region, taking measures to transfer patients in a serious state from the left bank to high-quality medical centers on the right bank.

Cristina Lesnic also said that the process of issuing the population of the Transnistrian region with birth and death confirming documents decreased considerably since March 2020 compared with the previous years, given the travel restrictions imposed by the Transnistrian side on the pretext of the pandemic.
