Chisinau of the future through children’s eyes

The capital city in 2030 will have a lot of new buildings. This is how the 20 children from Chisinau, who were designated winners in a contest themed “Chisinau in 2030”, see the capital see. They were awarded during a festive meting at the City Hall on May 17, Info-Prim Neo reports. More than 400 first-ninth graders took part in the contest. “Most of the times, the details are important. The local administration and we, the grownups, often do not see what the children showed and wrote in their drawings and essays. Who does not know the history, cannot see the future. The children showed that they know the history of the municipality and see its prospects,” said the head of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb. The winners of the contest received diplomats and books provided by the National Association of Young Historians. “The children convinced us that the cultural patrimony of Chisinau municipality must become a visiting card of the capital city. Their initiative to cultivate a civic spirit in the adults is a challenge to preserve our cultural patrimony,” said Sergiu Musteata, chairman of the National Association of Young Historians. The best drawing of Chisinau of 2030 will become a postage stamp by autumn. The contest was launched at the suggestion of the National Association of Young Historians and the Civic Group for the Cultural Patrimony. It was supported by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport.
