The tickets for the Chisinau – Odessa train route will cost 182 lei as of January 27, 2017, down from 197 lei at present, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the state-run company “Moldova’s Railways”. The reduction is valid until April 2 and is aimed at enhancing the company’s competitiveness in the area of passenger transport services.

In a press release, the company says that owing to the cooperation between the administration of Moldova’s Railways and representatives of the Customs Service and to the support of EUBAM, the passengers of the Chisinau – Odessa train can go through customs check at the Chisinau Railway Terminal before getting onto the train. As a result, the traveling time was reduced by about 40 minutes to Odessa and by about 50 minutes when going back.

The Chisinau – Odessa train sets off from Chisinau on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:11am and reaches the destination at 12:25pm. When back, the train leaves Odessa at 4:00pm and gets to Chisinau at 8:15pm.
