Employees at municipal divisions are donating their one-day wage, and municipal enterprises a part of their first-quarter profit, to the people affected by floods along the Prut River, Deputy Mayor Mihai Furtuna told the City Hall’s ordinary meeting on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Furtuna, the decision to donate the one-day salary was adopted collectively by the municipal employees. The enterprises that reported profit in the first quarter will donate up to 17% of it. The heads and deputy heads of Chisinau’s five district offices also highlighted the generosity of the businesses and individuals that made donations earlier. So far, 20 trucks laden with food, hygiene products, water, clothing and other goods have been sent to the flood-affected areas. Each district office currently has goods to fill another truck, as people continue to bring more.
