The local councilors of Chisinau approved the draft decision on the food quota for beneficiaries of social eateries in Chisinau municipality. Thus, in 2018 the municipality will allocate by 23.30 lei for a lunch at social eateries. It is planned that 700 persons will have lunch each month, IPN reports.

The draft decision was included as an additional item in the agenda of the December 1 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, at the request of Lib-Dem Adrian Culai. According to the councilor, a tender contest will be held in December to choose the suppliers. If the decision hadn’t been approved, the people could have remained without lunches.

The free lunches are intended for pensioners and invalids who are chosen by the district social assistance divisions.
