Localities that form part of the municipality of Chisinau will be able to access national and foreign funds intended for regional development, as other towns and communes of the country can now. For the purpose, there will be created the Chisinau Municipal Regional Development Agency, similar to the Center, South and Gagauzia Regional Development Agencies, IPN reports.

The regional development councils will consist of representatives of civil society chosen by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the mayor general of Chisinau and a representative of the Chisinau Municipal Council.

The money earmarked for the National Local and Regional Development Fund through the state budget law will be used to finance the costs associated with the organization and functioning of the Chisinau Municipal Regional Development Agency.
