The minibus itineraries in Chisinau will not be changed in the near future owing to the frequent protests staged by the drivers, acting mayor Nistor Grozavu has told Info-Prim Neo. According to the mayor, the Chisinau Municipal Council will approve new regulations concerning the organization of tender contests for every route. Afterward, there will be signed new contracts with the carriers. The new regulations will come into force not sooner than in autumn. In the morning of May 10, a number of drivers of minibuses running on routes No. 121, 115 and 124 protested during several hours, expressing their dissatisfaction with the modification of the itinerary of minibus No. 152, as it coincided with their itineraries. Nistor Grozavu said the drivers resumed work after the initial itinerary of minibus No. 152 was restored. Last week, the drivers of another two minibus routes held a protest after the Chisinau administration had modified their itineraries.
