Dorin Chirtoaca today is expected to present his first yearly activity report since his re-election as Mayor of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Mayor will speak in Chisinau's Europe Square at 12:00 pm. One year ago, Dorin Cirtoaca promised in his campaign to promote reforms which will replace the Soviet methods of city administration with new European methods, based on the rule of law, competence, competition, quality and transparency. Among the priorities for 2011-2015, the Mayor mentioned his plan for Chisinau's economic recovery aimed to increase the city revenues. He also declared that 50 km of road will be repaired and 250 million lei will be allocated yearly for this purpose. During his election campaign, the mayor promised to continue laying out parking lots and to build an underground parking garage under the Square of the Great National Assembly, measures aimed at improving traffic flow in Chisinau. He also said that the Bic River will be cleaned and leisure areas will be built on its banks. Liberal Dorin Chirtoaca was re-elected Mayor of Chisinau after he emerged victorious in run-off elections on June 19 one year ago. He was elected with 50.60% of the votes, as his contestant, Communist Igor Dodon, polled 49.40% of votes.
