Chisinau mayor finds food remains left by colleagues involved in cleanup at “Valea Morilor”
The mayor of Chisinau expressed his anger at the fact that after cleaning up the Park “Valea Morilor” last Saturday, March 31, his colleagues left litter behind them. “I was there yesterday and collected the leftovers and forks. Who left them?” the mayor asked in the April 2 meeting of City Hall officials.
The head of the Green Areas Association Eliferie Haruta said that 1,150 persons cleaned the Park on March 31. There were raked about 30 hectares of lawn. The cleaning works will continue this week as they did not manage to collect all the garbage, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Petru Gontea, the head of the Public Amenities Division, said that there were cleaned the yards of 1,590 blocks. The yards of another 140 buildings will be cleaned this week. The sidewalks will be covered with lime and the rest of the waste will be collected.
On April 6, employees of the City Hall and municipal subdivisions will be engaged in a new cleanup event. “We are to decide how many persons will take part and where. Those who became involved more seldom will be called,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
Cleaning works were performed in Chisinau on March 31 within the “Come on, Chisinau” campaign.
