A Chisinau man has been sentenced by Transnistria’s self-styled supreme court to 20 years in prison. Alexandr Dimov, 46, was accused of setting fire to a conscription center in Tiraspol.
In May of last year, the man allegedly threw several Molotov cocktails into the building, “on orders from a Chisinau supervisor”, the local media reported. Dimov regularly traveled to the Transnistria region to see his lover.
The trial was held behind closed doors, allegedly on the defendant’s request.
