The eleven athletes who medaled at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia, and at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, were awarded in the October 5 ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions. The coaches of the sportspersons also receive awards, IPN reports.

The awardees are: Alexei Sancov – first place in swimming at the Tbilisi competition; athletes Ivan Emilianov, Dumitriana Surdu, Serghei Marghiev, and Alexandru Babian – second place at the Baku competition; third-ranked athletes Mihaela Tacu, Marina Mishenko, Ion Siurez, and Olesea Cojuhari, and second-ranked freestyle wrestlers Alexandru Chirtoaca and Svetlana Saenco.

The awards represent 8,000 lei for the first place, 6,000 lei for the second place and 4,000 lei for the third place. Nine coaches got 2,000 to 4,000 lei, according the places taken by their pupils.
