As many as 106 kindergartens of the 159 based in Chisinau municipality will temporarily stop work in summer, for a period of at most 42 days. The vacation period is set individually for each kindergarten as a result of consultations with parents, IPN reports.

According to Rodica Gutu, acting head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, 29 kindergartens will stop work on June 2, 64 in July, while 13 in August. Current and extensive repair works will be performed at the given institutions in the period.

The administration of each institution will make sure that the children are enrolled at other kindergartens located nearby for the vacation period, if need be.

The 159 preschool education institutions of Chisinau municipality are attended by about 38,000 children.
