Chisinau kindergartens exhibit martsishors at General Education Division

Children, helped by parents and educators of kindergartens situated in Chisinau, made by hand martsishors on the occasion of the coming of spring. The exhibition entitled “Joyful martsishors” was mounted at the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports of Chisinau following a selection at kindergartens and can be visited by the end of March.

Head of the Division’s Information and Community Relations Section Elena Vorotneac has told IPN that almost all the 159 kindergartens brought by at least one martsishor for the exhibition. “The martsishors that invaded the Division are the product of children’s imagination and skills. The martsishors are of different forms and sizes. They were embroidered or crocheted, made from paper, fabric, thread or plastic,” stated Elena Vorotneac.

She noted that the goal of the exhibition is to promote the tradition of making and wearing martsishors so that the young generations do not forget about the inherited traditions and values. “Such activities are designed to strengthen the relations between the education institutions and parents, between parents and children and between kindergarten and children,” said Elena Vorotneac.

The most ingenious martsishors chosen by a special commission will be awarded. After March 31, the exhibited martsishors will be given back to kindergartens.
