The “Spicușor” kindergarten in Chisinau has been modernized with the financial support of the Japanese Government as part of the Kusanone program. The $89,700 grant was used for replacing the pavement in the courtyard and on the pathways leading to the playgrounds, as well as for rehabilitating the blind area around the building.
Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro declared that “the beginning of spring is a time full of hopes. There are several reasons to be optimistic about Moldova’s prospects”.
“With the European Union, Moldova will be able to make the most of its formidable human resources potential, like never before”, added the ambassador.
The Kusanone human security grant program was launched in Moldova in 2008. To date, Japan has provided $6.9 million in grant funding for 82 projects in the fields of education, health care and public utilities.
