Chisinau International Airport returns to usual work program

Update: The Chisinau International Airport has returned to its normal work program. Flights take off and land as usual. However, the airport’s administration said that delays are yet possible during the day due to the aircraft deicing procedures, IPN reports.

“The runway of the Chisinau Airport is very well cleaned by our mates from the aerodrome, who have taken care to keep it operable all this time. However, we urge you to check the status of your flight on the airport’s online board,” said the airport’s administration.

(Initial news item) Fifteen flights operated from the Chisinau International Airport were cancelled due to the bad weather, IPN reports, with reference to data for the last 24 hours presented by the Emergency Response Coordination Center, IPN reports.

The state border crossing points work as usual and the flow of people and means of transport is balanced.

At the Leuseni-Albita and Cahul-Oancea border crossing points, the authorities of the neighboring state redirect the movement of trucks on entry into Romania due to the unfavorable weather conditions.

On Monday, aircraft deicing procedures at the Chisinau International Airport could not be carried out due to the crosswind and heavy snowfall. Therefore, planes were not allowed to take off, aircraft deicing being a necessary procedure for flight safety. There were flight delays.
