The Chisinau International Airport has been designated as the institution with the most dynamic development in the CIS countries in 2013, in the category of airports with passenger traffic up to 1.5 million annually. The airport was appreciated both for the modernization of services and for continuously increasing the number of passengers, IPN reports.

The award ceremony was organized by the “Airport” Association of the CIS.

Director of the Chisinau Intl Airport LLC “AVIA INVEST” Petru Jardan said the award is an achievement of each employee of the airport, which every day ensures a high level of comfort and safety for all passengers. “This award is a great incentive to maintain this level of quality and to strive towards more,” he stated.

In 2013 the institution set a new record of over 1.3 billion passengers, an increase of 8.26% on the previous year. The greatest number of passengers was recorded on September 3, when there were served 6,567 people. Also in 2013, the Chisinau International Airport saw an increase of 8.91% in the number of takeoffs and landings on 2012, to 17,555.
