Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the mentality is the most serious problem of the residents of the capital city as they cannot mobilize to clean at least their yards and to keep the places in order after they were cleaned by others. A number of City Hall officials, together with the mayor, Saturday started the autumn cleanup campaign. They cleaned the yard of an apartment building located at 202 Alba Iulia St in Buiucani district, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We began with this yard because it was renovated at high costs. We want to show the people how to keep things in order. Regretfully, only a small number of dwellers joined us,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. He informed that such activities will be carried out more often so as to mobilize the people to clean their yards during several hours a month. “Councilors were entrusted with the task of monitoring the autumn cleanup activities in the districts of the city. Unfortunately, the people neither become involved in such activities, nor keep the places clean. Vehicles are parked in places where there was sown grass,” said Liberal councilor Oleg Cernei. The quarter situated at 202 Alba Iulia St was included in the program of laying out apartment building yards launched this summer. The renovated yard it to be inaugurated next week. There were set up parking lots, repaired the roads and access ways, restored the street lighting, changed the garbage bins and repaired pipes and roofs. There were built playgrounds and greened the areas.
