Chisinau inhabitants disconnected from water supply because of debts

A part of the residents of Chisinau remained without cold running water owing to the debts they accumulated to the public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”. The supplier said that of the almost 500 end-users with debts of nearly 800,000 lei, 16 business entities and 34 domestic consumers were disconnected from the water supply in September. Their debts come to about 500,000 lei, IPN reports.

In a press release, the company says tens of consumers with debts are warned daily, regardless of their legal status. After receiving disconnection notices, most of the end-users clear the debts in several days. Regretfully, a part of the clients do not pay for the provided services and are thus disconnected.

These with debts will remain without drinking water until they pay the overdue amounts and cover the costs for the disconnection and connection to the water supply system.

To avoid being disconnected, the consumers are warned to fulfill their obligations and pay for the water supply services provided by the public utility.
