Moldova and Romania in two weeks will sign an agreement on the relocation of the border station from Cristesti Jijia to Socola. This is the border station crossed by the Chisinau-Iasi train route that will be launched soon, IPN reports.
In a communique, the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure says the rail service Chisinau – Iasi, Socola, on long gauge railroad, will become available after the signing of the accord. It is projected that the journey will last for at most three hours.
Simultaneously, Moldova’s Railways will technically test Train No. 5, which was modernized in Pascani, until October 1.
The Ministry noted that the opening of rail traffic between Chisinau and Iasi is aimed at stimulating passengers to choose rail transport.
