Twenty groups are taking part in the 17th municipal contest-festival of Easter songs “For You, God”, IPN reports.

According to the head of the Botanica Culture, Youth and Sport Division Nicolae Gribincea, the preselection takes place on April 30, while the laureates’ gala concert will be given in the yard of Saint Dumitru Church on May 2.

“When the people have faith, they are more kind and, when you see them on the stage so beautiful, the soul fills with joy,” stated Nicolae Gribincea.

The jury includes musicologist Andrei Tamazlacaru, scientific secretary of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Victor Ghilas, and doctor of musicology Vasile Chiselita.

The event is organized by the Botanica district head’s office in cooperation with the Culture Division and the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council.
