This weekend, Codreanca Dance Club in Chisinau will be hosting the National Modern Dance Championships. The t0w-day event is an occasion for the most talented dancers to get a ticket to European or world tournaments.
The Championships are organized by the Moldovan Dancesport Federation. Its president Petru Gozun told IPN the event aims to facilitate an exchange of experience between instructors and dancers, to popularize dancesport among children and young people, and cultivate various styles and trends of modern dances in Moldova.
The participants will compete in various disciplines such as Performing Arts, Special Couple Dances, Street & Pop Dance or Hip Hop Solo. According to the rules, members of the Dancesport Federation can participate as well as dancers from unaffiliated clubs. Over 1,500 participants of various ages have already registered, but registration is still open until 7:00 p.m. today.
The Championships will start tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at Codreanca Club in Chisinau’s Botanica district. The entrance fee for the public is 50 lei per day.
