Professional and amateur bicyclists on May 26 competed in 30 km, 60 km and 15 km contests at the urban cycling race “Chisinau Criterium 2019”, with the last race being intended for all those who wanted to take part. The winners received medals, diplomas and awards from the organizers, IPN reports.

According to the public sports organization Sporter, the first category of participants competed in the 15 km race riding mountain bikes. The distance of 15 km a was included in the program of the race for the first time this year.

All the distances were conditionally divided into circles of 5 km. The athletes who competed in the 15 km race covered three circles in at most 40 minutes.

The “30 km by Technosoft” was the next race that enabled to compete by road and mountain bikes. The distance of 30 km or of six circles was covered in maximum 80 minutes.

The last stage of “Chisinau Criterium 2019” was the 60 km race of 12 circles by road bicycles that was travelled in at most 140 minutes

The urban cycling race “Chisinau Criterium 2019” is an annual sporting event staged by Sporter. The competition is held to develop amateur sports in the country and to promote a healthy lifestyle. In 2015, the event was included in the Official Calendar of Sporting Events of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova.
