The heating supply system in the Chisinau municipality works under the normal regime though the acting mayor general of Chisinau ordered that the heating season be closed on March 19. At the Chisinau City Hall’s meeting on Monday, Mihai Solcan, head of the General Dwelling Division, said that only 97 of the 2,842 residential blocks heated in the Chisinau municipality have been disconnected from the centralized heating system to date. According to Solcan, the population and consumers have the right to be supplied with heat if they want. This concerns especially the people that live in metered blocks of flats. Solcan said that the temperatures will go up the next days so that the disconnection process will be faster this week. Dionisie Antocel, administrator of the thermal energy supplier Termocom JSC, said that daily there are disconnected about 60% of the residential blocks planned to be cut off, but they are reconnected for the night at consumers’ request. The level of payments, Antocel says, is very high, of about 82%. The municipal enterprises pay the bills the best - in proportion of 88%, while the department houses and associations the worst – in proportion of 77%. The debts of the dwelling-housing fund total about 428 million lei at the moment. Antocel said that all the 116 kindergartens in the Chisinau municipality will be connected to the hot water supply system by the end of March and the 138 preuniversity education institutions by the end of April. A number of 18 kindergartens and 57 schools are not supplied with hot water at present.
