Chisinau gets ready for Easter holidays
Moldova’s capital city is preparing for the Easter holidays. The Chisinau authorities say that the preparatory works are close to an end, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Mayor General of Chisinau said that special attention should be paid to the cleaning of the areas from the vicinity of churches. According to Dorin Chirtoaca, these areas should be adequately cleaned and fitted up because on Easter the parishioners put the foodstuffs they want to bless on the ground. He also said that the public transport on the Easter night and morning and on Low Sunday should be properly organized.
Veaceslav Tarna, the head of the General Public Transport and Communication Ways Division, said that the public transport on Easter night will work according to an extended timetable so that all the people can get to churches. The program for Easter morning will be also modified. Additional routes to the Chisinau cemeteries are usually instituted on Low Sunday.
The mayor instructed officials of the division to draw up a detailed timetable for the units of transport that will go to cemeteries so that the population is informed beforehand about the schedule.
According to deputy mayor Vladimir Cotet, the sanitation works at cemeteries are also coming to an end. The territory of Saint Lazar Cemetery was cleaned and arranged. As it was promised, tanks with technical water were placed inside the cemetery and could be used to clean the graves. There was created one more entrance from the left side of the cemetery. Another entrance will be opened in the future near the zone where there are the graves of the German soldiers in order to avoid congestion.
