SRL “Chisinau-gaz” must separate the distribution activities from the supply activities legally and functionally. Thus, from this year the company can provide only natural gas distribution services. The decision was taken by the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation on February 27, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Agency, the distribution charge for SRL “Chisinau-gaz” will not affect the final charge on natural gas. “The supplier will pay the cost of the distribution service to the service provider. This means that the incomes will be distributed between the companies that form part of “Moldovagaz”. Such a separation is needed in order to create a competitive market in the future. If alternative suppliers appear, they must know how much they will have to pay for the distribution service,” said the Agency’s director general Victor Parlicov. After the calculations presented by SRL “Chisinau-gaz” were examined, the Agency’s administration decided that the distribution charge will be 385.45 lei/1,000 m3, by 22.4% lower than the asked one. SRL “Chisinau-gaz” provides services to over 100,000 end users.
