The residential waste disposal rate could more than double, from 69.46 to 153.1 lei per cubic meter, under a proposal submitted by the municipal garbage utility Autosalubritate.
The utility says the rate increase is needed due to higher fuel prices, soaring inflation, and the government’s decision to set a 3,500 lei minimum monthly wage in the real sector.
Adding to Autosalubritate’s costs are the legal provisions which require it to reserve at least a third of its containers throughout the city, or 4,000 units, for sorting waste into three groups.
The proposal is to be debated on Monday, 3:00PM, at the Centru District Head’s Office.
