Twelve driving instructors of the state-run Information Resources Center “Registru” were suspended from posts following an internal inquiry that revealed abuses of power. These all formed part of the examination commission for issuing driver’s licenses of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.

Simultaneously, the Motor Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Department for the first time initiated the procedure for annulling 17 driver’s licenses obtained illegally.

The National Anticorruption Center, in concert with the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and with the support of the Security and Regime Section of “Registru”, staged searches, including at the homes of third persons who facilitated the obtaining of driver’s licenses.
