Officers of the Anticorruption Center found 12 bottles of Maturinol, which was banned in 2009, at a drugstore in Chisinau during an inspection, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Center. Representatives of the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate of the Medication Agency took samples of the medicine for examination. Though it was banned by the Ministry of Health in 2009, the preparation was released by the prescriptions of a doctor of the Mother and Child Center. Since 2005, he has prescribed the medication to over 2,000 children. A sum of almost 1 million lei was allocated from the state budget this year for testing the preparation on animals.
