The Chisinau Dialysis Center has launched the service “Vacation dialysis”. Thus, both the Moldovans who settled abroad and foreigners who need dialysis will be able to benefit from a European-level dialysis service in Moldova as well. The dialysis is free for holders of active health policy issued by the Moldovan authorities and for money for foreigners, IPN reports.
The Center’s medical director Petru Cepoida said that for being included in the dialysis program, the persons must submit a file with the identification papers, the medical card and the dialysis regime. The Moldovans must also attach the copy of the health policy. The file can be also submitted to the Center’s email address info@dializa.md.
“We are one of the largest dialysis centers in Europe and can serve up to 350 patients, including those who came from abroad. At our dialysis center, the patients benefit from services whose quality is similar to those provided in European centers,” stated Petru Cepoida.
Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Creciun said the launch of this service adds an additional value to the whole health system. “From now on, at international level already, Moldova will be known as a country that provides dialysis services of a high quality, including for those who are abroad and for those who come on visit,” he stated.
Administrator of the company BB-Dializa Dmitri Onufreiciuc said the launch of the new service is a possibility of gaining the incontestable appreciation of the foreigners. “The patients who come from abroad said that at our dialysis center, the provided services, the consumables, the drugs and everything we offer, including the comfort, are similar to those in European dialysis centers, while in parts we are even better,” he stated.
While in Moldova, the patients can also benefit from the services of a specialized psychologist. The Dialysis Center’s psychologist Diana Stirbu said the foreigners are counseled by a psychologist to facilitate their integration into the dialysis process.
Carolina, a 28-year-old woman from Moldova who settled in Germany at the age of five, was included in the dialysis program two years ago. Now that the service “Vacation dialysis” was launched in Chisinau, she could return to Moldova to see her relatives. Suffering from terminal renal insufficiency, dialysis for her is vital.
The Chisinau Dialysis Center was opened within a public-private partnership project for dialysis services in Moldova on January 4 this year. More than 250 patients benefitted from dialysis services at the Center so far. Now the Center is attended by over 230 patients, which is more than half of the persons who are dialyzed in Moldova. To implement the project at national level and to ensure dialysis services of a high quality for all those suffering from terminal renal insufficiency, a German consortium represented in Moldova by the company BB-Dializa is to invest €15 million.
