The three deputy mayors of Chisinau City, elected on October 11 by the Municipal Council (CMC) have been each assigned specific functions. The responsibilities of the deputy mayors were announced by the Mayor at Monday’s City Hall meeting. Later, the Mayor is to sign an ordinance to this effect. Deputy Mayor Mihai Furtuna, nominated by the Moldova Noastra Alliance faction, will be responsible for financial and budget arrangements. Vlad Cotet, fielded to the post of deputy mayor by the Liberal-Democrat group, will be mainly responsible for the relations with the public utilities. Igor Lupulciuc, put forward by the Social-Democrat faction, will be in charge of the housing sector. Lucia Culev, elected on September 20, will be in charge of culture and education. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca will supervise the activity of the public transport and constructions in the city.
