Chisinau denies Tiraspol’s “blockade” allegations

Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and the Reintegration Policy Bureau have dismissed the latest allegations voiced by Tiraspol as “propaganda”. The comment comes after the breakaway region held a so-called congress of representatives of all levels, which accused Chisinau of mounting an “economic blockade” against it.

Chisinau responded by stating that the Transnistrian region has been on the receiving end of “a policy of peace, security and economic integration with the European Union that is beneficial for all”.

At today’s congress, Tiraspol complained of pressure, economic and social among other kinds, from the Moldovan authorities. The de facto Transnistrian authorities said they will appeal for help to the Russian Federation, and will also notify the UN Secretary General, the European Parliament and other international organizations
