The A (H1N1) influenza virus was detected in an employee of the Chisinau customs. He is the third Chisinau resident diagnosed with pandemic flu. At Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, the Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu said that the presence of the virus was confirmed in three of the 31 suspect cases reported in Chisinau. The employee is now receiving antiviral treatment in hospital, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldovanu also said that the medical institutions have been supplied with the drugs needed to treat this type of flu. There were set up special wards. Seminars on the infectious disease were held in all the medical institutions in Chisinau. Only the students that have vacationed abroad will have to present health certificates showing that they are not infected with flu. The others will be monitored at school by the teachers and medical staff, said Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of the Division of Education, Youth and Sport. All the kindergartens and schools have been provided with liquid soap. Hand driers will be installed during September. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca instructed monitoring the situation, creating sanitization conditions in the suburban kindergartens that do not have running water, providing the terminus minibus stations with biological toilets and running water, checking how the economic entities observe hygiene rules in units of transport. Sixty suspect A (H1N1) flu virus cases have been recorded in Moldova until August 24. The virus was detected in eight cases.
