The members of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on March 13 took cognizance of the resignation handed in by councilor Valentina Tapis, who took up her duties a month ago, IPN reports.

Valentina Tapis entered the CMC this February on the list of substitute candidates of the electoral bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova – Iurie Leanca”. The reason for the resignation hasn’t been made public.

The place of Valentina Tapis on the commission for social protection, health, education, mass media and interethnic relations was occupied by Igor Calin of the same group.

Until 2013, Igor Calin served on the CMC as a councilor on behalf of the Liberal Party.
