A group of 25 members of the Chisinau Municipal Council signed a statement that declares Russia to be a state sponsor of terrorism, on the initiative of the Liberal councilors, IPN reports.

According to Liberal councilor Ion Cebanu, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova should also adopt such a statement. “The massacre in Ukraine should be condemned in the most vehement way possible and from all the possible rostrums! We call on other local public authorities to do the same,” stated the councilor.

He also said that the Liberal group on the CMC will demand that all the agreements with the Russian Federation signed by the municipality of Chisinau should be denounced based on this statement. Out of 51 Chisinau councilors, 26 councilors endorsed the statement, but one of these was absent when the document was signed and there are only 25 signatures there.
