The head of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council Ion Ceban suggests outfitting 50 trolleybuses with air conditioning. In a news conference, the councilor said he made approaches to the Council so that this allocates about 15 million lei for the purpose, IPN reports.

According to Ion Ceban, it is unbearable to travel by trolleybus now, mainly during rush hour. “We suggest allocating 15 million lei by amending the 2018 municipal budget. We can diminish the source of financing approved for the Electric Transport Company for the assembly of 20 trolleybuses as the works in this regard haven’t yet started. This money can be used to equip 50 trolleybuses with air conditioning,” stated the councilor.

Ion Ceban estimated that ten trolleybuses can be outfitted with air conditioning during ten days. This way, 50 air-conditioned trolleybuses will run on routes in Chisinau. “Only political will is needed, but this should exist. It is regrettable that this hasn’t been done until now,” he said.
