Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) allotted MDL 40 mln on Thursday, February 15 for the compensation of the difference between the tariff for heat set on January 1 and the one population pays. The cost of a giga-calorie was increased from MDL 233 to MDL 540. The population continues to pay the old tariffs. The difference of MDL 307 is covered by the municipal council. The head of the General Financial Department, Tatiana Curnetzchi said that according to the decision of the CMC, the financial means will be provided to “Termocom” depending on the calculation of the real heat amount distributed to the household consumers by the supplier. CMC has allotted another MDL 15 mln to the company to compensate the losses it had during the last 3 months of the last year as a result of the increase in price of the natural gas. The Municipal Council allotted MDL 33 mln to the heat supplier but the decision had no financial support. At the end of December, the first instalment of MDL 13 mln was allotted and according to the decision made today by the councillors another MDL 15 mln were allotted.
