The Reintegration Policies Bureau is concerned about the attack on the building of the “security body” in Tiraspol. According to the Bureau, the goal of the incident is to create preconditions for worsening the security situation in the Transnistrian region that is not controlled by the constitutional authorities. The official Chisinau’s stance on the explosions that occurred in Tiraspol on Monday evening is formulated by the Bureau in a comment that is quoted by IPN.

In this connection, the Reintegration Policies Bureau makes a call for calm and assures that, together with the responsible national institutions, it is monitoring the developments.

The Security and Intelligence Service of the Republic of Moldova also expressed its concern over the incident in Tiraspol.

The Transnistrian press reported that it was an attack with rocket-propelled grenade launchers and that no one was hurt. Traffic around the building was restricted. The windows on the upper floors of the building were broken. The area was cordoned off by the police. Local expert services are examining the scene.

A number of blasts occurred in the head office of the so-called Ministry of Security of the Transnistrian region. The information was conformed officially by the local self-styled Ministry of the Interior.

Earlier the same day, Russia’s deputy foreign minister Andrei Rudenko said that Russia does not see any risk in the separatist region of the Republic of Moldova and wants a peaceful solution to be identified to the dispute. The statements were made after a representative of the Russian army asserted that one of the goals of the current phase of the Russo-Ukrainian war is to ensure a corridor “up to Transnistria”, arguing the Russian-speaking population there is oppressed.
